Biodegradeable void fill packing

Today I was contacted by an irate customer over packaging and I do understand peoples concern, packaging peanuts void fill are often thought of as a nuisance, making a mess once packages are opened and clinging to clothes long after. Not only do people find them irritating, but, if they are not biodegradable they are also harmful to the environment I just wish that they would ask and not simply presume things.

Thank you for the swift mailing of this item I received today. However, I implore you to stop using styrofoam packaging. It is so harmful to both humans and the environment, I don’t even know where to begin. First and foremost it’s non biodegradable. It stays on this planet forever!

I will not shop a second time with people who use styrofoam, so you might want to consider this, especially as the Neal’s Yard product‘s policy is to be good to this planet.

Thank you and please give it serious consideration.

I purchase all my biodegradable packaging from a local company called Swiftpack based in Theale, Berkshire, you can easily check this by dropping a few into a glass of water and watch it disolve.

Traditional loose fill packing peanuts are difficult to decompose, composed of polystyrene, a plastic polymer better known as Styrofoam can end up in a landfill or floating around the ocean for many, many years.

Biodegradable packing peanuts are made from natural, nontoxic sources, such as wheat and corn starch. They dissolve in water and can be thrown into compost piles after a single use. In addition, biodegradable foam peanuts do not have an electrostatic charge, meaning they will not stick to clothes.

So please do be assured, when buying from us, I only use biodegradable packing to protect your items whilst they are on the way to you.
